BAND:Third Lung
TRACK: I A Fire

Third Lung, an Indie/Alt-Rock four-piece from Reading, are releasing their new single, I A Fire, on the 26th of March 2021. The band, consisting of Tom Farrelly (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Cams Jurasek (Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals), Rob Jacques (Bass) & Sam Waugh (Drums), have decided to follow-up 2020 singles Meet The Sky, Desire, Nowhere Left To Hide and Falling Stone with the first track from their forthcoming EP Dialogues Of The Fatal Few.

The single is a celebration. A coming of age. A moment where we decide to no longer be a victim of our past and commit to realising Potential. To focus on our future. Lyrically, the song explores the friction that occurs internally when such an aim is set. We battle doubt, we confront our own demons and inner voices to strive forever on. With the lessons of yesterday fuelling tomorrow.
Third Lung’s sound is unique yet familiar
Dangerous yet inviting.
Built by individual voices to create something truly rare
A must-see for 2021.

BAND: Reclaim Vienna
TRACK: Joker

“Retro Futurists” RECLAIM VIENNA release their latest new single JOKER on THURSDAY 1st April on all digital platforms.

A fresh, energetic and upbeat pop / dance / indie rock crossover track about confrontation, anger & resolution, it’s one of the bands earliest songs.

Main Writer Danny Smith:
“JOKER is one of the first songs the band wrote.
It's a song that has stayed with us from the
start, so we felt it right to release it as a single. Working
remotely
with producer Ben
Booker, we now have a song that is a cross genre Pop / Dance / Rock track.
The song could easily be construed as a love
song but the 'she' in the
lyrics actually
personifies any idea or thought that plays on your mind and cannot be shifted. It's about the
relentless pursuit of divisiveness and confrontation. It’s about confrontation, anger but also
resolution.
Even though this song was written a few years ago we feel the lyrics are more relevant now than they have ever been.
JOKER is released THURSDAY 1st APRIL on Manchester’s 42’s Records

BAND: Dai Williams and 505 Friends
TRACK: Witches

Coinciding with Ostara (Spring Equinox in the Wiccan Calendar) or 19/03/21 for everyone else, Dai Williams & 505 Friends bring you the magnificent masterpiece ‘Witches’. You will be able to stream this via your preferred platform by clicking this link https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/daiwilliamsand505friends/witches

This ambitious piece has been nearly a year in the making: written, recorded and produced entirely in lockdown by sharing ideas and files across multiple remote locations in Wales (Neath Port Talbot) and Cyprus. It has been born out of a collective's desire to achieve greatness in spite of the adversity the world faces in pandemic and changing social attitudes.

Witches will have you spellbound with its dramatic orchestral sounds, enchanting harmonies, seductive hooks and mesmerising lyrics.

Our Wiccan friends need fear not, this is not intended as a call to pitchforks and burning haystacks, rather it is metaphoric with modern day 'witch hunts' maliciously manufactured by those who have control over the media for political or anarchical purposes, which, sadly, are all too often embraced by the fickle in their hoards. This is intended as a warning cry to those who would succumb to the path of least resistance to follow like sheep.

The music video pays homage to the classic silent horror movies of the 1920s and complements the song perfectly. You will be able to view this from 19/03/21 here: https://youtu.be/oaznD5ZLLWg

Dai Williams has been in bands for the best part of his life, starting with Million Dollar Babies in the 90s. His solo work has been transformed through collaboration with a collective of 505 friends, including various members of Aubrey Straw, Sound Egg International, 505 Collective and the Hoskins Phenomenon and will be promoted via Shiny Vinyl Presents.

Other interesting facts: In his spare time Dai Williams is a butterfly collector and is very proud to have caught a black hairstreak in the golden summer of 2018. However, he has a strange fear of the colour yellow (Xanthophobia), which has restricted his collection somewhat. So much so, he has often been known to run away from Tiger Swallowtail butterflies, seeking refuge in a darkened room for a few hours afterwards.

BAND: Longlight
TRACK: Choppy Water
My name is Lucas and I'm the guitarist of LONGLIGHT, a London, U.K. based Alternative band.

I wanted to get in touch to send you our warm up single, 'Choppy Water'. I found you guys through a friend's recommendation and we would love to feature on your Unsigned Playlist.

The song will come out on the 16th of April via AWAL and has already received support from Danny Fullbrook at BBC 3 Counties, Jim Gellatly at Amazing Radio and over 15 local and international radio stations

LONGLIGHT are the genre-bending, Avant-pop band led by Jo Williams and Lucas Polo.
Previously eminent as Beautiful Thing on international underground circuits, the group are
known for their soaring vocals and widescreen sound. Emulating a euphoric super8
dreamland, their debut record takes a nostalgic journey through memory and fantasy.
Pairing Williams’ naturally soulful songwriting with Polo's prowess for musical arrangement
producer Danny Allin (Marmozets, Labrinth, Jamie Cullum) has pushed the former guitar
band's boundaries far beyond the conventional, guiding them in blurring the borders of
traditional genre, generating a record of collage style, glitched-out and glittering pop
sensibility. Featuring vocals sung through guitar pickups, guitars played through synths and
natural field recordings of the work and social life of the trio, there is something new to
discover with every listen.
First performing together in a castle a top the Tuscan hills in Volterra Italy in 2016, Williams
and Polo's subsequent adventures would see the duo travelling the world; gracing the
legendary 54 Sound Studios in Detroit with Oscar winning musician Luis Resto (eminem),
chateaus in the South of France, the sun drenched Californian coast during a tour of the USA,
the green fields of Glastonbury Festival (2017 & 2019) and collaborating with a variety of acts
from Hussain Manawer, to KWAKE BASS and Hattie Erawan.
The pairs uplifting live energy is complemented by a whole host of talent, many of whom
shall be revealed in upcoming releases, including three drummers and rich, five part
harmonies for a resonant experience. The weight of it all led by Williams’ voice, truly opening
up the soul with colossal emotional force.

Band - The AV Club
Track - Mistakes

UK based electro indie pop band The A.V. Club, who will be releasing their new single ‘Mistakes’ on Friday 5th March 2021. ‘Mistakes’ is a cinematic indie pop tune, following last year’s EP ‘Youthful Illusions’ and singles ‘Over U’ and ‘Real Love’. Would really recommend these for fans of The 1975, Fickle Friends and Wallows. They’ve had previous support from John Kennedy at Radio X as one of his ‘Ones To Watch' and they’d really like this single to reach new listeners.

Warrington indie pop band The A.V. Club have entered a new phase with their brand new single ‘Mistakes’, out Friday 5th March.

Thriving since their very beginning, The A.V. Club have been dropping carefully crafted indie pop bops since early 2020. Their exciting blend of nostalgic electro sounds with modern indie-pop vibes has captured the attention of many, including John Kennedy who tipped them as a ‘One To Watch’ on his Radio X show last year. After an extremely well-received EP ‘Youthful Illusions’, the band swiftly followed it up with singles ‘Over U’ and ‘Real Love’, quenching the thirst of their ever-increasing following.

The Warrington quartet are now back with their first offering of 2021, in the form of new single ‘Mistakes’. The single’s hooky synth melodies and catchy chorus pair to create a bittersweet, soaringly cinematic listen. Dubbed as an anthem for reckless young lovers, ‘Mistakes’ follows the story of a person living with regret over a past relationship, reflecting on their heartache and the resulting emotions of letting someone they loved go for no real reason other than being young and reckless. It’s a relatable story; something more people will have experienced than they care to admit.

‘Mistakes’ was written in just a couple of hours, while singer Joe was waiting to go on a night out during the brief period of time the first lockdown was lifted. The full demo, including all instrumentation, was tracked by Joe at his home studio, before it was completed by the full band at Matchbox Studios. Fans of Fickle Friends, Sea Girls, Wallows, Valley, The 1975 and Swim Deep will find their new favourite band with The A.V. Club.

‘Mistakes’ will be available on all streaming and purchasing platforms on Friday 5th March 2021.

Band -Pocket Lint
Track - Smashing Mirrors
Pocket Lint is the solo project of former Remodel guitarist, Mark Heffernan. The name Pocket Lint refers to the leftover ideas that formed my initial recordings. A feature of my music is a love of ‘Aural Bonbons’: sounds found or created and incorporated into songs.
E.P. Two was released in autumn of 2020 and saw the music compared to Bowie, Blur, the Auteurs and Syd Barrett.
E.P. Three is built around the cities of Paris and Vienna, the two dominant artistic and cultural hubs at the turn of the last century. The whole E.P. has a sense of noir and the romantic. This romance can be seen in the songs Same old Seine and When Winter Comes Again. Smashing Mirrors borrows a line from Noir classic ‘The Lady from Shanghai’, while opening song Carousel plays with images from bygone childhood

Band - Shader
Track - Runaway
SHADER release their debut Vinyl single
“RUNAWAY” on 7” clear vinyl and all digital
platforms, on Friday 12th March 2021
Backed with their last digital hit “ True To Life,
RUNAWAY showcases an INSTANTLY POWERFUL, FRESH
more RAW sound from the band.
Their previous CD single, “Time is Right” hit number 2
in the UK Physical singles chart in July 2020 and
remained in the top 3 for 3 weeks.
Main writer and lyricist Stu Whiston:
“Runaway is about the anxiety of everyday life,
real vs. fake, the upsurge of talentless TV celebrity
culture becoming a legitimate career move and the
overwhelming desire to runaway to somewhere with
some soul.
It was written in a flat in Didsbury, Manchester, I was
working at Blockbuster Video, spending all my spare
time watching classic films (perks of the job), daytime
TV and becoming obsessed with 80’s post-punk band
The Sound. The guitar intro & feel are my nod to the
genius of Adrian Borland of The Sound”
Hailing from Stoke and Manchester, SHADER will set out
on a UK tour this August (‘21) and have an album planned.

Band - Saint Martyn
Track - Aubrey Plaza Smile

LATEX RECORDS set to release SAINT MARTYN’s debut album SMILE in JUNE 2021.   Debut single & video AUBREY PLAZA SMILE available now.   Media links below.

Saint Martyn is a project born from real pain.  Bed ridden from CRPS, the most painful medical condition known to mankind, Saint Martyn took this never-ending pain and channelled it into his debut album: Smile.

Smile is a dark musical journey presented from a place of truth.  It explores what it is like to live with 24/7 chronic pain and what this can do to a person.

Smile's debut single, Aubrey Plaza Smile, is available now.  The phrase Aubrey Plaza Smile refers to a fake smile adopted to hide what is really going on beneath the skin.  Aubrey Plaza Smile also has a dark and disturbing video featuring a distinctly creepy deepfaked rendition of Aubrey Plaza.

Sonically, Smile draws from the bleakness of 90s acts such as Massive Attack, Tricky, Deftones, Nine Inch Nails and the cold chill of 70s acts such as Ultravox!, Joy Division, John Carpenter, Gary Numan and The Human League through the more recent lens of Iamamiwhoami, Zola Jesus and Chelsea Wolfe.

Smile is currently scheduled to be released digitally on the 28rd of June 2021. The single Aubrey Plaza Smile, from the album Smile, is currently available on most major streaming services and the video is available on YouTube.  For more information on Saint Martyn visit saintmartyn.tumblr.com or contact saintmartynmusic@gmail.com For more information on CRPS please support and visit Burning Nights  https://www.burningnightscrps.org/

Artist - The Amber List
Track - New Day Calling
The Amber List from Preston, Lancs.
Good old guitar indie bringing to mind Bunnymen, REM, The Coral, The La's, James....you get the picture.
Our first album, The ache of being, is out in mid July with a taster EP available on Soundcloud on this link only.
The band formed in 2017 in Preston, Lancashire with Tim and Mick playing original folk songs together. Once joined by Tony and Simon, the sound broadened to a classic four piece indie guitar sound peppered with harmonic interludes and touched with atmospherics. Think Teardrop Explodes, Echo and the Bunnymen and the La’s, crossed with The National and Fleet Foxes, with a hefty helping of The Smiths. All members of the band have flirted with the limelight, with previous releases on Virgin and Action records and supporting the likes of The Stone Roses, Gene, Hard-fi, The Saw Doctors, The Cleaners from Venus and Bronski Beat. This from poet Paul Cookson: “Perfectly pitched, deftly mixed and immediately accessible, their songs feel like old friends you haven’t seen for ages, or best friends you haven’t yet met. Familiar and warm, but different and alive. High on melody and hooks and low on volume for volume’s sake. Understated and all the more powerful for that.” Mick Shepherd: Lead vocals, guitar, bass Tim Kelly: Guitar, vocals, bass Tony Cornwell : Guitars, bass, atmospheres, vocals, racket Simon Dewhurst: Drums, percussion, vocals
The Amber List are:
Mick Shepherd-Lead vocal, acoustic guitar, bass
Tim Kelly-2nd lead vocal, acoustic guitar, bass
Tony Cornwell- lead guitar, BV, bass
Simon Dewhurst- Drums, BV, no bass

Artist - Finding Aurora
Track - The Last Call
Finding Aurora are a 4 piece garage rock band from Newport, South Wales. Starting as bedroom project in late 2017. Finding Aurora took to the stage in 2018 and since then have sold out headline shows in Cardiff and Newport to crowds of 100+. They have an enthralling live show which must be seen and are eager toi get back to the live scene as soon as possible.

Having already establishing themselves as an incredible live band, with their first ever gig happening in May 2019, at the Dragonffli in Pontypool, they went straight to work and recorded their debut EP with Jeff Rose (Skindred and Dub War).
The Ep was well received in all quarters setting the band up for an exciting career.

Such an exciting young band, both live and on record, bound to make waves in the scene in the near future. Finding Aurora have an incredibly bright future ahead of them.

ABOUT THE SONG
'The Last Call' is about cutting people off who make you feel like nothing and moving ahead and giving them the last call. The song was recorded in February 2020 with Tom Auton at Musicbox studios and his house.

For fans of:  Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Queens Of The Stone Age

Band - Rilke
Track - Have it All
'Have It All' will be released on Friday the 5th March and is our second single from our upcoming debut EP, Zero Days.

Just a quick background about the song - This song explores the phenomenon of knowing a romantic situation feels like a lost cause, but holding on to a glimmer of hope that it could still work out. Meanwhile an unshakable sense of pride leads you to ignore your gut feeling, a feeling that is inevitably right. Taking a little artistic license this tale originates in rainy England, transporting the listener on a journey through the glittering night markets of the Middle East to the palm lined boulevards of 00’s Beverly Hills. A song made for blasting through the radio of a classic Cadillac convertible under the rays of the hot sun.

Band - 10 Gauge
Track - I’m Broken
Old-school rock is back... and it gets a contemporary twist from the sensational British hard-rock outfit — 10 GAUGE.
Musically and sonically, 10 GAUGE return to the rhetoric and style of the late 1980's & early 1990's to play their exciting brand of rock with the same dedication and inner strength as bands like Metallica, Megadeth and, of course, Iron Maiden.
But the 10 GAUGE musicians were raised on a diet of alt-rock, so although they might be inspired by the greats of NWOBHM, they are not obsessed with the notion of trying to reinvent the vintage sounds. So, for example, tough alternative hitters such as Alter Bridge and Black Stone Cherry are big influences on their playing and compositional style.
10 GAUGE believe in making broad-shouldered, hard-wearing, durable rock. They put on a show and they create strapping-great sounds filled with power and melodic perception.
The band centres around TJ (lead guitar) and Rob Jewson (vocals) with Kieran Best also on guitar. The lasting rhythmic oomph comes from Gareth Dearing (on bass) and Neil Felgate (on drums).
“We're private people,” TJ says “With households to run and family obligations - but we're not building a fortress around our band... On the contrary — we want to sweep-up our audience. We want to bring our fans into our family circle, we want to embrace them.”
This promising arena-band, based in Hertfordshire on the outskirts of North London, is already showing signs of great potential. The five-piece create some powerful ballads and scandalously addictive adrenaline pumps of testosterock. Their ingenious intuition and spirited resolution comes from an ingrained sense of companionship.
Their credo: toil and graft brings revelry. Their hard-rock/alt-rock numbers, often reminiscent of Maiden-cum-Metallica, have brute force and unbridled energy. It's as if the band possesses unlimited potential. The guys are proud of their work ethic. ”We took our band name from the type of harder-hitting, fret-buzzing, 10-gauge strings we fit onto our guitars... The name adapts well to the nature of our sound because our songs have a high carbon content and a steel core... We believe we play with an exacting consistency and optimal performance — we're never wound too tight.”
This work-hard band are united by strong relationships and common interests, and that's how the guys accumulate their energy so efficiently. Their close bond is the fissionable material that gives their songs a distinctive euphoria, a crackling rockiness and, ultimately, that deep emotion.

ABOUT THE SONG
The song is about taking things for granted, or showing you that you shouldn’t. Takes us through the stereotypical ‘had it all and lost it’ example of bad choices and realising that you need to ask for help to regain control or to move forward, and in the end how asking is not the bad choice it is the correct choice. The main premise is to be able to ask for help when you need it.
For fans of:  Metallica , Black Stone Cherry, Lynyrd Skynyrd

Band - Dead Rituals
Track - When the Lights are Out (acoustic, live in Brooklyn)

February 2021 - Post-punk / shoegaze outfit Dead Rituals managed to stay quite busy during these crazy times, releasing 2 EPs and a handful of singles. What’s been missing, is some live music. The band shared an intimate acoustic take on their single “When The Lights Are Out.” Recorded in a big stairwell in an old Brooklyn loft, the track features a lush natural reverb and a soothing atmosphere. By contrast, the studio version (available on all platforms) has a layered production with drums, guitars, and other instruments.

Band - Warrington Music
Track - Swings & Waterslides

Warrington band Viola Beach were a hotly tipped act set to become the UK’s new favourite indie band. Everything was going their way - sold out gigs, national airplay, an album in the works and their first European tour dates booked. Sadly, on 13th February 2016 while travelling through Sweden, their lives were tragically cut short by a car accident.

The terrible accident that killed the band and their manager Craig Tarry sent shockwaves throughout the music world, and in particular, the band’s musical peers in their hometown of Warrington. However, over the past few years these musicians have strived to keep their memory alive by continuing their legacy. World famous acts such as Liam Gallagher and The Stone Roses encouraged people to get the band’s debut single ‘Swings And Waterslides’ to Number 1 in the charts, and Coldplay paid tribute to the group, covering their single ‘Boys That Sing’ while headlining Glastonbury Festival in 2016.

Now, five years on from their tragic deaths, a community of talented musicians from Warrington have come together to record a cover of Viola Beach’s single ‘Swings And Waterslides’, and will be released on Friday 12th February 2021.

The project was organised by Lee Harman, Editor of [WAM] Magazine, and supported by Viola Beach’s former sound engineer Cal Bate, who both wanted to create a suitable tribute to the band. Together the pair pulled together a band of musicians who have grown from the Viola Beach legacy to record a cover version of ‘Swings And Waterslides’, and all proceeds from the single’s success will be donated to charities of the Viola Beach’s families’ choosing.

Lee Harman of [WAM] Magazine has said of the project: “Viola Beach left their own legacy despite their short time together. They were the first of a new wave of bands who were proud to be from Warrington, and all the artists involved are honoured to be involved. We should have seen Viola Beach headlining the biggest festivals five years on but despite the pain and sadness getting easier every year, they put Warrington on the map, and we want to show they’re still an important part of the town’s culture.

“Kris [Leonard], Jack [Dakin], Tom [Lowe] and River [Reeves] have such an important part to play in keeping the Warrington Music [WAM] website active as I had all but stepped away from the blog but their tragic passing galvanised the towns scene and myself. I felt it was important to cover as much as I could about everything that was happening in the days and weeks after their tragic accident.”

Sound Engineer to the band for six months, and now working with Blossoms who had Viola Beach as their tour support, Cal Bate said:
"Viola Beach are a huge part of my life, the big stepping stone to my whole career. So to be able to produce a version of one of their songs with amazing musicians from Warrington meant the world to me. I was lucky enough to hear their songs and mix them a lot whilst working with them and they were always songs which you could tell they wrote for people to dance and love forever. The boys’ legacy will live on forever and they left us some beautiful music. They will never be forgotten and they are everything to Warrington and its music scene.”

Olly Thornton contributed vocals to the track, having shared bands with Kris Leonard in their formative years, and said:
"I'm really excited to be a part of something so special! This is a lovely way to remember the lads and Craig. I grew up with Kris, we were inseparable for the best part of our younger life, [and] to be asked to do something like this and to represent the teenage musical beginnings of Kris' life makes me very proud!”

Jessica Luise, who also performed vocals on the track, was able to fund the recording of her most recent single thanks to a bursary from the River Reeves Foundation - a charity set up by River’s family to provide funding to musicians from the local area - and said of the single: “I started working with the Rivers Reeves Foundation around a year ago, I love everything they stand for and think that what they do for musicians is wonderful, I never knew the lads personally but getting to experience the legacy they have left behind is amazing. It’s been an absolute privilege to be involved in this project and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

NOTES
The single is being released under the name Warrington Music. A music video featuring all of the artists who contributed will also be released. The full line up of contributors to the recording is as follows:

Formed in North London during the global pandemic and in the thick of a nationwide lockdown, The
Utopiates found themselves in the midst of a creative furnace. This was ignited by frontman Dan
Popplewell’s desire to write honest and brutal songs about his experiences of being a young man
during such a peculiar time. 4 months later the band have two exceptional singles under their belt and
plans to release a further 4 tracks in the first half of 2021, The Utopiates are determined to make a
significant impact.

Antidote was written to inspire those who are in a time of personal desperation. It draws upon our own
experiences of depression, anxiety and hopelessness, yet it’s a song that looks to find beauty in this
despair. If ‘Only Human’ is all the questions raised after observing the breakdown of community and
the ultimate frailty of human beings, ‘Antidote’ Is the the optimistic and hopeful response to those
questions. In a way this is a song that challenges the view of us that older generations have. The view
that we’re incapable of coming together for something bigger than ourselves. Ultimately, you can be
whoever you want to be and achieve everything they said we couldn’t.
It’s too all too easy to assume that this song was written about the pandemic. It wasn’t at all actually, it
addresses feelings that are experienced universally. But it’s difficult to ignore the poignancy of the
loneliness and disillusionment that many - perhaps all of us - have felt during this weird time.
We've were listening to a lot of 80's synth pop and indie guitar bands of the late 80’s/ early 90’s that
used electronic elements when we wrote this. Dan already had penned the lyrics and it all came
together very easily
Major influences on the band are bands that came from the UK’s halcyon, late 80s era in The Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses and Primal Scream, whilst also being drawn to 80’s synth pop and new wave artists such as Talk Talk, Duran Duran, Simple Minds and INXS.

Band - Afternoon People
Track - Soveriegn
Biog - We formed in early 2019 and have been gigging in & around the Greater Manchester area at such venues as Deaf Institute,JimmysMcr,Band on the Wall,Manchester Academy to name a few.
We’ll also be supporting The Lathums in Hull April 22nd on their upcoming Uk tour.

Artist - Senses
Track - Drop Your Arms
Biog - Genre hopping guitar band SENSES are: Callan, Ian, Kavvy and Ronan. They combine arena ready hooks with evocative soundscapes to create their compelling sound. Equally influenced by shoegaze romanticism, alternative experimentation, and indie ambition, they have been making music and gigging around the UK since they formed.

SENSES first met while attending school in Coventry, UK and all come from Irish heritage. The quartet bonded over a shared love of diverse, underground music and their chemistry was instantly apparent in their early demos, which attracted attention from several major labels. Buoyed by radio support from the BBC, the group gigged across the UK and started work on their debut recordings with Gavin Monaghan (Editors, The Blinders, Kid Kapichi).

The band seemed destined for a major breakthrough. However, a delay with a Japanese label brought things to a halt. This led to a hiatus for SENSES.

Undeterred, SENSES started envisioning a more ambitious plan for their future. Collaborating with several gifted filmmakers, photographers, and designers, SENSES began creating a multimedia campaign that would bring their story to life and all building towards the release of their victorious debut album.

ABOUT THE SONG

Drop Your Arms is the lead single from the band's upcoming debut album 'Little Pictures Without Sound' and an introduction to SENSES. The song is an instant, upbeat and energetic 'call to arms' and written as a reminder to people to fight for what is important to them and to not be afraid to drop your arms and learn to love your vulnerabilities. The lyrics quote "and I won't hold back to the feeling" - in current times these words resonate deeply. The song is about giving people hope, fighting for all the good in life and celebrating being dreamers.....because we all are.

The song sums up the current social and political climate but showing that better times are on the way.

Artist - National Service
Track - Last January
Biog - National Service’s suitably sombre take on The Twilight Sad is also the last of those six Fierce Panda Covid Version releases to be officially released in the wake of woozy dreamboats MOON PANDA, who took The Strokes’ ‘Call It Fate, Call It Karma’ outside for a big cosmic cuddle in September. Then came DESPERATE JOURNALIST’s fearless lunge at ‘The Fear’ by Pulp, GHOST SUNS’ glowering stab at Nine Inch Nails’ classic ‘Hurt’, JEKYLL’s non-jokey stab at Japan’s ‘Nightporter’ and CHINA BEARS’ chilled tribute to Fountains of Wayne with ‘Hackensack’. All six covers will be collected together on the ‘Listen With Smother Volume Two’ digital EP and released on Fierce Panda’s birthday on February 26th 2021.

the militantly-named NATIONAL SERVICE are four troopers locked down in North London. They consist of Fintan Campbell (vocals/guitar), Daniel Hipkin (bass/vocals), Iain Kelly (guitar/vocals) and Matthew Alston (drums). ‘Last January’ is their new single, a hauntingly understated reworking of a Twilight Sad stormer from 2014.

Back in the panic-stricken spring of 2020, when the growing global pandemic ensured that the playing of gigs suddenly became as practical as the flying of pigs, fierce panda asked its newly domesticated acts to choose a favourite tune by another band with which to rockdown in lockdown. These covers would form the Covid Version Sessions, informal home recordings simply designed to capture the unsettling mood of the moment.

National Service lead singer Fintan duly showcased a solo performance of this classic Twilight Sad tune during that initial lockdown period. The National Service band have held a long-established, if geographically inconvenient, affection for and affinity with murky, moody artists grown from the fervent Glaswegian scene (Frightened Rabbit, Mogwai, Kathryn Joseph, Honeyblood etc.)

Little did we know however that nearly a year on new mutations of the virus would be causing even more concert-free consternation. Many of those springtime Covid Version recordings by the likes of Moon Panda, Desperate Journalist and China Bears have moved onto the streaming platforms over the past few months, and now National Service have revisited ‘Last January’ in time for this January.

After getting the initial nod from Twilight Sad lead singer James Graham, a solitary Iain Kelly set about fashioning a reimagined version of the tune, piecing together various offcuts of studio recording, drum tuning, rehearsal noises and ambient sounds from deserted London streets. The other members contributed new remotely recorded parts to create a heavily-orchestrated, sedately-ambient take on the original's tormented pangs of alienation, isolation and stasis that provide the perfect soundtrack to a hermitic and troubled year.

National Service’s suitably sombre take on The Twilight Sad is also the last of those six fierce panda Covid Version releases to be officially released in the wake of woozy dreamboats MOON PANDA, who took The Strokes’ ‘Call It Fate, Call It Karma’ outside for a big cosmic cuddle in September. All six covers will be collected together on the ‘Listen With Smother Volume Two’ digital EP and released on fierce panda’s birthday on February 26th.

Band - Abi Rose Kelly
Track - Kill the Waitress
Biog - ‘Kill The Waitress’ is the new single by Abi Rose Kelly. It came out on 5th February 2021 and it’s a fierce, gritty listen, for fans of Courtney Barnett, Angel Olsen and Dilly Dally. Abi was longlisted for the Glastonbury Emerging competition in 2020 and this is her first release since that was announced

Kill The Waitress’ is the third self-released track by Liverpool based musician Abi, following up the slacker grunge single ‘Polaroids & Violence’, which has racked up over 100k listens on Spotify since its release in May 2020. This is also her first release since she was longlisted for the Glastonbury Festival Emerging competition in 2020, and although the competition finals were sadly never to be, she has since seen her audience grow, desperate to hear more from her.

The single’s pounding drum intro is an instant hook, and the punchy guitars are what fully pull you in. ‘Kill The Waitress’ is rough around the edges with a fiery moodiness running through. Switching from breathy vocals to a fierce, gritty roar in the chorus, Abi firmly sets herself up as an electrifying no-nonsense musician, while also laying bare her undeniable songwriting skills and crystallising an incredibly accomplished sound for a musician so new.

Abi says of the track: “‘Kill the Waitress’ is a song about how angry I am with facing the same angry people every day, and how I view my life in general, coming to terms with being miserable and getting on with it. No self pity here, we’re all human.”

‘Kill The Waitress’ is the hotly anticipated follow up to singles ‘James’ corsa’ and ‘Polaroids & Violence’, and there’s an EP and collaborations in the works for the rest of 2021. One thing’s for sure, there’s a fire burning inside Abi Rose Kelly that’s ready to be unleashed.

Band - Aubrey Straw v Sound Egg International
Track - Familiar Face v Crystal Visions
Aubrey Straw V Sound Egg is a cross-generation collaboration embracing different genres, allowing them the freedom to breathe life into songs that were hitherto left to rot on the practise room floor.
This has culminated in the production of Familiar Faces V Crystal Visions.
Yes, all the Vs are a bit of a mouthful but the inspirational backstory is that there were two songs that had been left to stagnate...
Both ironically resurrected given the opportunity, time and inclination presented by the Coronavirus pandemic and loss of normal liberties through lockdown.
In fact, the song and video has been produced remotely in its entirety: written, recorded/filmed and produced from band members’ homes between Wales and Cyprus.

Fun facts: we are scared of reptilian humanoids living amongst us with plans to take over the world... But we enjoy tripping out and not worrying about it too much.

Artist - Jessica Luise
Track - Nice Try
Biog - ‘Nice Try’ is the new single by Jessica Luise. It’s out on 22nd January 2021 and it’s a totally blissful but bittersweet listen, which you might like if you’re a fan of The Sundays, Wolf Alice, Pale Waves and beabadoobee
North West based singer Jessica Luise returns with her third single release ‘Nice Try’ on 22nd January 2021. Recorded at Matchbox Productions in Warrington, ‘Nice Try’ is set to kick off an incredible year for Jess.

The uplifting melody of ‘Nice Try’ pairs with the melancholic nature of the lyrics to create a bittersweet but blissful song, which was written as a form of closure after a personal experience. The battle between head and heart is an experience so familiar to most, and ‘Nice Try’ explores the back and forth of falling for someone you know you shouldn’t. “You make me weak at the knees, you do”, Jess sings, before questioning why she feels so intensely about someone that she knows could hurt her. Jess’ impressive vocal range only adds to this ordeal of emotions, switching from a passionate intensity to a delicate, vulnerable whisper at a moment’s notice.

Jess says of the single: “This song is the one that helped me blossom as an artist. The simplicity yet rawness of the lyrics made this song quite cathartic to write and record.”

‘Nice Try’ follows up Jessica Luise’s second single ‘Television Mister’, and places itself as the perfect transition between her previous release and something much, much bigger. The breezy warmth of the single creates a memorable listening experience for fans of The Sundays, beabadoobee, Wolf Alice and Fleetwood Mac. Her previous releases have seen support from BBC Introducing Merseyside as well as nationwide airplay on Co-op Radio.

Artist - Deva St John
Track - Reckless
Biog - Born in London to American parents and raised in Berkshire, Deva St.

John’s sound is a bridge between the soundscapes of British and

American pop culture. A peerless vocalist and authentic lyricist, her

boozy lo-fi alt-rock production and gnarly vocals reveal an artist who

channels her sensitivities into songs that peer under the veneer of

modern life to express something fundamentally timeless, a yearning

dissatisfaction; rock n’ roll in its purest form. The Information Age was

Deva St. John’s third single since her debut release, Afterlife, in October

2018. In the year since, Deva exploded onto the London gig circuit,

spending the summer refining her performing nous in front of a steady

growing audience.

Following an interview with Linda Serck at BBC Introducing in Berkshire, Huw

Stephens picked up The Information Age for BBCRadio 1’s Introducing show.

Shortly after, Deva St. John released XV, her 4th and most

recent single, alongside fellow musician and long-term partner, Split The Dealer.

Inspired by contemporary pop and a rich array of 90s influences, XV is a deeply

personal narrative - articulating a ferocious fight for love. Spotify quickly

picked up XV for Discover Weekly, and it hit 30K+ streams within the first six

weeks. XV piqued the interest of Sennheiser, which then lead to a live performance on

their Instagram, and a feature on their website.

Having performed for Sofar Sounds from London to Brighton, with a

Youth Music award nomination in October, and a main stage BBC

Introducing show booked for Readipop 2021, Deva St. John is one of

the country’s surest rising stars, and she won’t slow down for a minute.

ABOUT THE SONG

Deva St John grew up as a working actor. As much as she loved it (and still does)

she felt like she couldn’t really explore who she was or who she could become.

Unwavering commitment, regardless of how damaging it might be, seemed like the

only key to success. Hence the name of the track. When Deva finally got the courage

to also pursue music, it felt like a very reckless choice. She then committed way

less energy to acting and was getting a lot of angst out in the songwriting.

Deva was worried it would affect her employability.

'Reckless' is about throwing caution to the wind, ironically, for the sake of self-preservation.

Band - Feed Your Wolves
Track - I’ve Been Waiting for You
BIOG - Feed Your Wolves is a solo project from start to finish. All music is written, performed, recorded and produced by Andy Davidson as well as all artwork, website and merchandise design. “I have always wanted to write and produce my own album but always had an excuse not to. Enough of that, I’m doing it. I don’t know how far this will go, but for my own self satisfaction, its something I have to do.” “Music has been my life since I can remember. I currently sing in a cover band called Last Anthem, teach in some schools and do bits of graphic design. These are all jobs I love but I will never get away from my passion of writing songs and creating something from nothing. Enough time has passed by not doing it, it’s time to change.” Why the name? Feed Your Wolves? “I decided I didn’t want to release these records under my own name and eventually decided on ‘Feed Your Wolves’ because of a quote I had read. It goes like this…” There are two wolves always fighting inside me. One is filled with anger, hate, jealousy, shame and lies. The other wolf is filled with love, joy, truth and peace. The battle rages inside of you and everyone. Which wolf will win? The one you feed

Artist - Follow Me Dark
Song - Stars Collide

December 9, 2020 - Alt Rock/Metal band Follow Me Dark ends 2020 on a high note with the release of their self-titled odyssey “Follow Me Dark”. Slated to go LIVE on the winter solstice, the 12/21 release is an impeccable testament to their dedication and perseverance. COVID truly changed everything for musicians, putting them in an introspective position to create art during a time when nobody is playing shows. In light of this, Follow Me Dark chose to focus on finishing their album right in time for the changing of seasons. In the spirit of challenging comfort zones, their full length album is meant to welcome people into listening to something outside of their realm of comfort. Instrumentally, the band taps into multiple genres in an attempt to convey a mood through music to reflect the dimensions that are inside of all of us. Their intricate textural interludes and melodic choruses captivate fans of alt rock, metal, psychedelic rock, indie rock and even rock opera. The modern psychedelic grooves and metal attacks tap into fans of Muse, Alice in Chains and Deftones.

Follow Me Dark’s emotional new album isn’t afraid to confront human nature in a very raw and transparent way. Consisting of Stephen Kozak (vocals/guitar), Sean Batinic (guitar), Elliot Grove (bass) and Jim Boots (drums), the band reveals a chemistry between bandmates that assists in amplifying their message in a relatable yet ‘larger than life’ way. Hailing from Grass Valley, CA, the band has successfully introduced their grassroots following to a progressive approach to songwriting. And in “Follow Me Dark”, the band embraces very organic musical peaks and valleys, offering a refreshing complexity to the alt rock/metal genre. “Too much music nowadays is predictable, it’s unexciting. It’s not surprising. That’s something we pride ourselves in; we try to make music that pushes you into “I didn’t see this coming. I’m off my rocker. I can’t categorize this” says vocalist/guitarist Stephen Kozak.

Full length albums are often hard to come by in our singles-laden world. But “Follow Me Dark” has a unique way of provoking you to commit to listening from beginning to end. The “Follow Me Dark” project embraces the darker parts in all of us that we aren’t always consciously aware of. With the release of their self-titled project, they hope to create an outlet for people who might be confronting some of the same feelings that they do; those feelings of dread, confusion, chaos and anger. In the words of drummer Jim Boots, “There’s a dark, shadowy feeling to the music that’s kind of what the world is going through right now.” And after such a turbulent year, it’s important not to ignore those feelings but to welcome them knowing that many are experiencing the exact same thing. While the light and positive emotions bring us together, so do the dark ones. Our imperfections make us relatable to one another and after a culmination of two years of intense creativity, Follow Me Dark hopes to provide their fans with cathartic & spiritual experience to wrap up a year that is sure to go down in history books.

Loose Canyon
by the
The Gabriels

'Loose Canyon’ is the debut single from The Gabriel’s, a new band from the Midlands brought together through a shared love of melodic pop, jangly guitars and classic songwriting.

Featuring Gudg (vocals), Fran Feely (Bass), Leon Jones (Guitar) and Stuart Gray (keys).  The band have all known each other socially for years. Gudg and Fran had some songs and they asked Leon if he fancied adding some guitar and soon after Stuart jumped on board and The Gabriels were born.

‘Loose Canyon’ was recorded in 2020 to the obvious background of Covid. Gudg explains  “The song is about escapism, this year more than any we’ve all probably felt the need to escape.  As a band we love the 1960s Laurel canyon Scene and would have loved to be have been part of it. It was a time where it felt like anything could happen both socially and musically and as a band it’s a big influence on us”.

All band members have a musical history before The Gabriels. Gudg previously sang with Pallenberg, Fran previously played with Elefant Records act The Silver Factory,  Leon in Blow Up Records band Alfa 9, and Stuart in Fence Collective band Viva Stereo and Drone/Psych Band Children of Leir.

Taking in influences such as The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, C86, The Stone Roses and Teenage Fanclub as well as sharing a love for the 1960s Culture and soundtracks.

The band are currently recording their debut album and looking for options for release for the future.  Live gigs are also planned.

We'd really appreciate any mention/review/interview -its tough for a new unsigned band trying tog et any exposure at the moment without live gigs!

The single will be released on January 31st 2021 and also features backing vocals from Robyn Gibson from The Junipers and was Mastered by Ben Booker(The Fernweh/The Coral)

Primary songwriters Trevor Meyer and Thomas Heun played in competing
bands in high school. After college, they combined their talents and began
writing together. Joined by bassist, Marc Barone and drummer, Jon
Schlote; The Jobs musical space is primarily occupied in alternative rock
with tinges of surf, punk, and emo. Melodies are deliberate and songs are
rooted in pop sensibility often masked underneath the gaze of guitar fuzz.
Influences have greatly expanded over the years drawing from travel, world
topography, landscapes, the sea, storytelling, loss and isolation,
recuperation, and perseverance through physical and mental challenges.
Packaging in tonal influence that is governed by a love for British rock,
vintage rock and emo, The Jobs maintain their process-driven approach
focused on flow rather than force.   As the band’s musical cadence
matures, the commitment to integral songwriting and love for innovation
balance the challenges of sailing upon the ever changing 2020 musical
landscape and beyond.

Track: Simya
Artist - Sezin Agelova

I would like to introduce you to our first new-jazz release, Simya. The tune is released on 29th November and played on the same day at Jez Nelson's legendary show ''Something' Else'' in Jazz FM. It is also shared as a new release in many local magazines / newspapers. We reached a huge amount of audience in a very short time and very happy about the amazing feedbacks.

I am sending you the links to the song and details about artists. Hope you get a chance to check us out. If you would like to play Simya in one of your programs, or share it on one of your media platforms, or discuss further collaboration with us about our future releases, we will be more than happy. Many thanks.

London based songwriter and a sophisticated jazz vocalist, Sezin Angelova likes to sing fragments that will come together in a certain way to create a language of emotional or intellectual intensity. She personalises the sounds and vibrations that are uncovered from the layers of her diverse background from Istanbul to London. With the unique and glossy patterns of her voice, Sezin mixes various musical influences into a modern Jazz appreciation.

Here are the bands & artists from Show 6.

Band - Form Rank
Song - Retribution
Hailing from the once-fertile punk landscape of the San Fernando Valley, FORM RANK's brand of American Oi! and early '80s hardcore pays homage to its roots with freight-train guitar riffs, plodding drums and anthemic melodies that will have you shouting along by the second chorus.

Orange G
Song - Look Both Ways
"Look Both Ways" which was just released on 11/20. The song is about how we often assume the worst from our fellow humans and I wrote it to remind myself and others to challenge those perspectives and see things from a more positive outlook. The sound of this track is a departure from my usual minimalist indie folk style (I am also including a link to my most recent Spotify release "The Dustbin" which is more minimal). I used a whole band on "Look Both Ways", including my favorite instrument, the harmonica, which takes a lead role.

Both "Look both ways" and "The Dustbin" were world-premiered on the New Music Saturday podcast. Here are some quotes from the hosts Dr. Bones and Mike1inFive:
"Man this is so cool! A #worldexclusive and what a tune that is!!! This has a dark and mysterious vibe going on locked in that raw rootsy sound Orange G does so well. I love the chorus - it really comes alive in the final one with that lead part. Wow!" (about "Look Both Ways")

"How good is this!! A folky-bluesy banjo tune about persistence. Love the lyrics, I think the vocal is perfectly pitched - almost moves into a kinda pop-punk twang - and the whole track comes together brilliantly. Simplicity is beauty - right here this is proven." (about "The Dustbin")

Just a little bit about me: I am a one-person DIY musician in Pittsburgh, PA. My day job is in the sciences, and much of my music is influenced by my experiences in that hypercompetitive arena. I have intensified my songwriting and recording efforts in the pandemic, which has been hugely rewarding and self-medicating. I am greatly influenced by the indie folk/americana acts like Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes, Wilco and Jake Bellows to name a few. My tracks most often have a self-reflective nature and I play all the instruments. During the pandemic, I have been playing every week at the Hambone's Virtual Open Mic, which includes musicians and an audience from all over the world

RED Shakes
Believe It

Red Shakes is the project of Sam Da Silva, inspired by lots of artists and genres Red Shakes makes music reminiscent of 60’s guitar pop groups and indie bands of the 2000’s, all the way from  and  to  and .
Early 2020 saw red Shakes release his first 2 singles, both of which were well received, garnering support from Amazing Radio, RGM magazine and more.

Marz Fay
Sunsets And Beaches

Marz Fay is an authentic musician and artist hailing from South London, she is a self-taught
pianist, guitarist and lyricist. She uses organic methods to weave together ethereal, melodic
sounds with lyrics rooted in poetry. So far, she has released three tracks via Sound Cloud and is
releasing her debut single coming out on all platforms in November 2020. Truly DIY, she records
tracks in her home make-shift studio. The result is a genuine, honest artistic project from a
young woman speaking truth on love, sexuality and politics. She is known for “captivating” the
audience with her performances at events such as “Tracks On Tap” and “Luna Legacy”
. Her
forthcoming EP “INK” showcases her dreamy- lofi sound and her creative direction.
Her craft doesn’t end there, she is also a DIY videographer, creating stimulating videos using her
iPhone to fit alongside her sound. In addition to this her outgoing personality can be seen
through her presenting a Culture show at The Beat 103.6 FM. She is a motivated, multi talented
young person that is due to rock the music scene in the coming years.

MC16
Song - Anti
On the back of their recent live appearance at the UK’s first ever punk drive-in gig, punk rockers
MC16 release a new song and video; ‘Anti’.
The song has once again been recorded in Worcestershire and produced by Dave Draper (The
Wildhearts/ The Professionals) and is the follow-up to their last single ‘Brave New Word’ which
was given a video exclusive by Vive Le Rock magazine.
“Anti’ got its world exclusive as part of the virtual Rebellion Festival and is now being released
digitally, backed by a video made by filmmaker Will Hutchinson.
Says front man, Carson “Anti is about the evolution or de-evolution of protest. When you look
back at the Poll Tax riots for example, we took the fight to the places of power but if you look at
protest now it can just be an excuse for someone to loot an electrical shop and bag themselves
a new TV or do a post on social media using an angry emoji and hoping people like their post
rather than do something about the issue”
“Has anger become a fashion? Issues remain the same but protest moves onto the next thing
and never seems to look back until it comes round again. Some protesters just want their badge
and t-shirt, wear it for a bit and then look for something new to wear. A protest is not a
sponsored charity walk or nice day out in London, it’s a tiny tiny piece of a bigger and longer
campaign”
The track is available on all digital streaming services and via the band’s Bandcamp

Wilswood Boys
Save The Queen
We're Wilswood Buoys (Josh & Joe) from Mersea Island. We're an Alternative/Folk Acoustic duo

We released a single earlier this year shortly after Covid hit and it has really affected our means of spreading our sound as we had loads of shows booked to promote it but have obviously been unable to play live shows since.

We've been trying to regularly live stream our music but this is obviously just not the same.

Our Latest single (Save The Queen) got played on BBC introducing back in summer and have recently got through two auditions on Open Mic UK.

Emperor of Ice Cream
‘It’s Alright to Show Yourself’
FIFA Records
‘It’s Alright to Show Yourself’ is the fourth single since Emperor of Ice Cream announced their return from a twenty-five-year hiatus in May with their previous singles all topping digital charts in Ireland. Their long-awaited debut album 'No Sound Ever Dies' recently entered the official Irish album charts while also hitting the No.1 spot in the indie charts, making it a staggering fourth No 1 since their comeback. ‘No Sound Ever Dies’ while achieving chart success at home, has been very well received internationally with tracks from the album gaining radio airplay in a massive 33 countries spanning the globe.
Rarely (if ever) has a band’s debut album taken as long to reach its fans as No Sound Ever Dies by Emperor of Ice Cream; but perhaps theirs' is no ordinary story. The album’s title alludes to the feeling within the band when a 2020 newspaper article in the Irish Examiner elicited an emotional response from followers and ensured Cork’s FIFA Records thought it prudent to get the band members sitting around a virtual table.
Now based in Cork, Waterford, New York and Amsterdam, respectively Eddie Butt, John ‘Haggis’ Hegarty, Graham Finn and Colum Young, resolved to both delve into early releases from Emperor of Ice Cream and return to studio to put the finishing touches on a album that was shelved 25 years ago, when they prematurely parted company with their label, Sony Records.
They discovered a treasure trove of recordings and unfinished ideas that still sounded remarkably fresh despite the passing of time and began the process of completing a project that they had left Cork for London to work on during a heady period in the mid-nineties. Fledgling riotous performances and early demos had piqued the interest of several record labels, but Sony pipped them all to the post with a promising development deal, and the lure of London captured the imagination of the four young Cork musicians.
It resulted in three extremely well-received EPs (Overflow, William and Know Me) and recordings began with 'Fast' Eddie Clarke of legends Motörhead, who has contributed work on three of the new album’s tracks. No Sound Ever Dies kicks off as it means to go on with the title track from the William EP, and what follows is a musical petri-dish of shoegaze sounds, with touches of psychedelia and classic indie rock.
Singles ‘Lambent Eyes’ and ‘Everyone Looks So Fine’ (which both enjoyed Number One positions in digital charts) are two gems on a rollercoaster Side A, while ‘High Rise Low Rise’ slows the pace down a little with its chilled Disintegration-like resonations. ‘Again and Again’ picks the pace up once more before the epic closer ‘Grow As You Are’ brings things to a crashing and fitting finale. Twenty-five years in the making, the appropriately-titled No Sound Ever Dies is testament to that very notion, and a poignant end to this chapter for a band who may have once burned out, but once again are shining brightly!!

Here's what we played:
BAND: The Superlatives
TRACK: What Will You Do With Me
Rock band for Leeds
Twitter - @TheSuperlatives
The Superlatives are a three piece indie rock band from Leeds. Hard hitting catchy riffs with a driving bass sound.
Charlie Noble - lead guitar and vocals
Tom Gausden - bass guitar
Jamie Godley - drums and backing vocals

The Superlatives wear their influences on their sleeves with music comparative to the progeny of Britpop, 70’s British Punk, indie and alternative. Described by the Sheffield Scenester as ‘Looking like three blokes going down the pub, their casual demeanour gave little hint of the underlying talent they were ready to unleash upon the Harley [venue in Sheffield]. Power chord combinations tore out of the amps and across the room with riff after riff belting, the drums pounding with foot-stomping ferocity and the vocals not drawing attention, but grabbing you by the throat and demanding it.’
We’re a band from Wetherby, formed a long time ago, with four members. As we’ve improved and formed our sound, we’ve also whittled down the members to just three of us. With the typical three piece set up, we’ve played gigs all over Leeds and Sheffield, as well as playing in Germany, the Netherlands and London.
These most recent demos were recorded at Cottage Road Studios in Headingly, the same place where the Crookes recorded their album, and Leeds bands such as Pulled Apart by Horses and the Pigeon Detectives have also recorded

BAND: Coral Snake
SONG: Pierce The Heart
CONTACT:
North East hard rock band Coral Snake have released their debut single ‘Pierce The Heart’ on 09th October 2020. An adrenaline fuelled statement of who they are, ‘Pierce The Heart’ is just the start of what’s to come from the 4-piece powerhouse.

Borne from heartbreak and betrayal, ‘Pierce the Heart’ is triumphant in its emotional soundscape; with impressively impassioned vocals and thrilling instrumentation, the song is not only a visceral representation of real life but a statement of who Coral Snake are and the hard rock vigor with which they play. The single was recorded, mixed and mastered by Samuel Turbitt of Ritual Studios in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Known for his ability to capture monstrous drum tones, exhilarating guitars and flawless vocals, “Pierce The Heart’ delivers on all counts.

Formed in late 2019 from the remains of Chris (Guitar), Joe (Drums) and Matt’s (Bass) former band, they drafted in Jamie (Vocals & Guitar), who had blown them away when they shared the stage with him several times at gigs earlier in their careers.

The band is true to its old school rock n’ roll roots with a modern flavour, a band with the bluesy gusto of Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith, in a loud hard rock package akin to Alter Bridge and Nickelback.

BAND Holy Drone
SONG Fibres
CONTACT  Holy Drone are architects of shoegaze dream-pop, heavenly fuzz riffs and luscious, mesmerising vocals. After making their debut in 2016, the Warrington quintet’s noise laden psych sound has piqued people’s interest across the world. Their last release ‘Northern Fire’ came out in 2019, and after a year of experimenting on new material and navigating lockdown difficulties, Holy Drone are back with their new single ‘Fibres’.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine, the song came together very quickly for the band, written during a period in lockdown when the sun was shining and the band started to gain a shred of optimism about the weird situation we all found ourselves in. Opened by Emma Taylor’s signature glistening breathy vocals, ‘Fibres’ is punctuated by a soaring guitar riff, pairing together to create a blissful, transcendent listen.

‘Fibres’ follows other previous releases ‘Sleeping Silver’, ‘Radio Song’ and ‘Washed Out’, and two EPs - ‘Danxia’ (2016) and 2017’s follow up ‘Learn To Swim’, which all captured the attention of the likes of BBC Introducing, The Unsigned Guide and Amazing Radio. The band have recently supported Witch Fever and Max Bloom (Yuck), and also played at Stay Fresh Fest.

Take a look at what people have had to say about Holy Drone so far:
“Peeking out from underneath the layers of delicious fuzz, you’ll hear the hypnotic, soaring vocals leading ‘Washed Out’ to its sublime crescendo like a siren luring ships onto the rocks.” - The Unsigned Guide
“Celestial waves of dazzling shoegaze shower upon our welcoming ears while Bate-Nilsson’s dreamy vocals swirl high above the fuzzed-out storm. For under three minutes, we are overwhelmed by a song that is simply shoegaze brilliance.” - Therevue.ca
“Their hypnotic brand of alt-rock, takes cues from the fuzzed out guitar interplay of Deerhunter fused with something heavy, leaving their own original sound. Opening for a masterful act from across the channel, the female-fronted five-piece presented themselves as a complete force-to-be-reckoned-with that have plenty of steam in them to go all the way with their project.” - MCR Live

BAND Pocket Lint
SONG Daydreams of Aidi
CONTACT Pocket Lint is the solo project of former Remodel guitarist, Mark Heffernan. The name Pocket Lint
refers to the leftover ideas that formed the tracks on E.P. One, but the focus has quickly moved
towards new material. A feature of Pocket Lint recordings is a love of
‘Aural Bonbons’: sounds found or created and incorporated into songs. These might be the sound of bells, traffic, or a cocktail being
shaken. The project explores different styles and is not confined by particular musical boxes. Whilst
maintaining a sense of the romantic, the lyrical content avoids the cliched tropes of love songs and those of classic rock hedonism preferring to look for less trodden paths.
Recorded during the first lockdown of 2020 and set to be released on Bandcamp, E.P. Two features two songs with a political focus. It seems impossible to avoid at present. ‘Back to Basics’, the first
track, takes its title from John Major’s 1990s speech, which sought a return to ‘family values’. The song rails against attitudes to immigration. The second political song, ‘International Conspiracy’, is an argument with Hitler. ‘Daydreams of Aidi’ is the distillation of a novel by Enrico Brizzi while ‘The Soul Banker’ introduces a Halloween character who buys souls. The final song, ‘Four Paths’, is an instrumental.

BAND Temporary Long Term Positions
SONG FORCE
CONTACT We're Temporary Longterm Positions an indie alt-rock band from North Wales.
We started making music in North Wales in late 90s / early 2000s. As a duo (longtime friends with a passion for music) we shared a love of the mid to late 60s psychedelic/garage bands such as The Doors, Love and 13th Floor Elevators. Despite growing up in the 80s and 90s we tried to capture the spirit and creative freedom those bands had throughout our music, but also tried hard not to mimic ideas and to remain original. We both play guitars primarily but do also play bass, keys, percussion etc.

Due to curcumstance at the moment it's just me writing and recording but after Covid (hopefully) I will be looking for a drummer and bass player plus the other half of the duo to take these songs out to the world.  'Force' is just me playing everything, we have not released music as a duo yet but have many recordings/ ideas. This is the start.

'Force' is a track from one of our upcoming albums 'Remote Viewing' which releases 01/12/2020 on Spotify and other major streaming platforms.
We currently have an EP and two albums released already with another album releasing 27th of this month before 'Remote Viewing' comes out (I have been working very hard on writing/recording and getting music out there this year).

SONG: Don’t You Forget About Me
CONTACT Stoke, Leek, Sandbach and Sale’s finest new Rock n Roll outfit SHADER release their isolation cover of the Simple Minds US number 1 hit ‘Don't You (Forget About Me)’ on Friday 27th November, to support The Music Venue Trust and the #WeMakeEvents campaigns
The aim is to raise awareness of the campaigns and encourage donations; plus all proceeds from the release will be donated to the campaigns

Frontman Stu Whiston:
“After recording ‘Don't You’ in isolation during the 1st COVID lockdown, we posted it as an isolation cover on our social media and got a great response. The author Brett Easton Ellis picked up on it and gave us a ReTweet.
Though both the band and the label aren’t keen on releasing cover versions as such, 42’s Records suggested that, as a band that depends on grassroots music venues and events crew, the title would fit perfectly as a digital single to support and raise awareness of the #WeMakeEvents and #SaveOurVenues campaigns.
Music venues have been closed for 9 months; many have had no financial support.
There’s an army of highly skilled crew; roadies, sound and light technicians, bar staff etc who have had no work and no real support for that period.
Anyone into music, bands and gigs should know this is critical and we can’t afford to lose these venues, which provide a starting point for new bands, or the skilled professionals that make gigs happen.
We spoke to people at the #WeMake Events and The Music Venue Trust and they were delighted to have us supporting them

Without Andrew are a four piece punk rock band from Manchester, blending together the sounds of older punk rock with the more modern day pop punk of Green Day and Blink 182, as well as the vocal stylings of The Used, Creeper and Secondhand Serenade. Their new single ‘Don’t Turn Away’ is released on Monday 26th October. The song was born from songwriter Mat messing around with an acoustic guitar, singing the first line of the song and knowing there was something to build on. The song became a love story about the challenges between connecting and co-existing in a world so vast. Mat says of the single: “‘Don't Turn Away’ is a massive step forward in both our writing and performance ability, showing that we are able to write songs with impressive, difficult vocal melodies and interesting guitar parts that show off the ability of the band. I believe this is our best song to date."

inspiration from left-field electronica as it does from post punk heroes of the late 70s / early 80s.
Enola Gay have already crafted a unique sound, described as a blend between Girl Band and IDLES, that has drawn widespread acclaim from key industry figures and music fans both north and south of the border. Opened for Just Mustard for what was only their second gig. They have recorded with Chris Ryan (Robocobra Quartet) who also recorded Just Mustard’s NME acclaimed album ‘Wednesday’.

BAND:  The Worn Roses
SONG: Sober
The Worn Roses are Shrew wranglers from the West Midlands. Brought together by their love of singing, ale, and story telling, this year they decided to act upon the oft-mentioned suggestion "we should form a band" and form one. So far their rehearsals are filled with laughter, beer, and songs about depression and ghosts. Sober was written by Fay Epstein and produced by Dan Rosewarne, and is the first completed recording in their fast-growing catalogue of folky music. They draw their inspiration from an eclectic library of pop, rock, goth, jazz and folk, as well as horror, poetry and real life. They like lists and commas.  The Worn Roses are Joy Mills, Dan Rosewarne, Fay Epstein and Charlie Rosewarne

BAND Are We Static
SONG Wildfire

Wigan, England’s Are We Static roar back with “Wildfire”, the first proper single from their sophomore LP, Accepting The Universe, out in November on Vibrant Sky Records. An ode to the sometimes explosive father/daughter relationship, “Wildfire” is an uptempo rollercoaster ride, with plenty of energy and dynamism to spare.

Debut single "The Knife"is out now featuring a killer remix by the baddest of bad seeds Barry Adamson. Described by Phil Newall in Louder Than War as an “ultra-noir porno romp.” We like that!

BAND Tall Stories
SONG Nosebleeds
CONTACT: wearetallstories@gmail.com
Tall Stories are based in Birmingham, and fast made a name for themselves in the burgeoning local scene. Following a breakneck summer,
the band entered a writing period, during which they recorded Concrete Heads, and had a line-up change, welcoming a fourth member James Marson on lead guitar. 2020 saw the band forced to reschedule live dates and instead commence writing on their debut EP. However, the band are never inactive, and the Black Lives Matter protests drew them out of isolation, with Louis performing an acoustic set live on Instagram to raise funds for the Stephen Lawrence Trust. Tall Stories are now ready to resume playing live, whenever that’s possible, with live bookings being made for the end of 2020 and early 2021.

CONTACT
After two self-produced albums, The Hindu Needle Trick decided to step it up a notch. Enter producer
Jesse Maes (Hypochristmutreefuzz, Sophia) and engineer Bert Vliegen (Teen Creeps, Sophia), who did a

pop songs with a twist of indie rock, a pinch of folk and a whiff of punk. They also did their fair share of

Its shaping up to sound like the classic 90s bands such as RIDE / THE VERVE's A STORM IN HEAVEN Album

BAND The Nightmares
SONG Creature
CONTACT thenightmarestheband@gmail.com
We just self released our debut album on Friday (25/09/2020)
We are The Nightmares, we met in a graveyard 3 years ago and started to mix disco with fuzzy riffs to create our weirdo sounds. We are all tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theories and this has leaked it's way into our debut album "See You Later Savages". The title which was taken from a mysterious time capsule found under an American school.

Savages is an 8 song burst of adrenaline. Coming in smashing your ears and leaving before you can even say hello. Over the 8 songs on Savages we wanted to show off the things that we do best! With a whole bunch of heavy riffs, funky bass-lines and pounding disco drums.
