I make anything from drum & bass and dubstep to ambient and garage. Depending on the track I make, I focus on creating an engaging atmosphere or creative sound design (most of the time, both). Looking forward to getting more people to hear my music and making more cool tunes :) Band - Last Victorian Death Squad (LVDS) Track - Alice Biog - Out on Shore Dive Records is the re-release of the first EP by Last Victorian Death Squad. It’s out on 22nd January 2021 and it’s a totally blissful but bittersweet listen, which you might like if you’re a fan of The Sundays, Wolf Alice, Pale Waves and beabadoobee North West based singer Jessica Luise returns with her third single release ‘Nice Try’ on 22nd January 2021. Recorded at Matchbox Productions in Warrington, ‘Nice Try’ is set to kick off an incredible year for Jess. The uplifting melody of ‘Nice Try’ pairs with the melancholic nature of the lyrics to create a bittersweet but blissful song, which was written as a form of closure after a personal experience. The battle between head and heart is an experience so familiar to most, and ‘Nice Try’ explores the back and forth of falling for someone you know you shouldn’t. “You make me weak at the knees, you do”, Jess sings, before questioning why she feels so intensely about someone that she knows could hurt her. Jess’ impressive vocal range only adds to this ordeal of emotions, switching from a passionate intensity to a delicate, vulnerable whisper at a moment’s notice. Jess says of the single: “This song is the one that helped me blossom as an artist. The simplicity yet rawness of the lyrics made this song quite cathartic to write and record.” ‘Nice Try’ follows up Jessica Luise’s second single ‘Television Mister’, and places itself as the perfect transition between her previous release and something much, much bigger. The breezy warmth of the single creates a memorable listening experience for fans of The Sundays, beabadoobee, Wolf Alice and Fleetwood Mac. Her previous releases have seen support from BBC Introducing Merseyside as well as nationwide airplay on Co-op Radio. A peerless vocalist and authentic lyricist, her boozy lo-fi alt-rock production and gnarly vocals reveal an artist who channels her sensitivities into songs that peer under the veneer of modern life to express something fundamentally timeless, a yearning dissatisfaction; rock n’ roll in its purest form. The Information Age was Deva St. John’s third single since her debut release, Afterlife, in October 2018. In the year since, Deva exploded onto the London gig circuit, spending the summer refining her performing nous in front of a steady growing audience. Following an interview with Linda Serck at BBC Introducing in Berkshire, Huw Stephens picked up The Information Age for BBCRadio 1’s Introducing show. Shortly after, Deva St. John released XV, her 4th and most recent single, alongside fellow musician and long-term partner, Split The Dealer. Inspired by contemporary pop and a rich array of 90s influences, XV is a deeply personal narrative - articulating a ferocious fight for love. Spotify quickly picked up XV for Discover Weekly, and it hit 30K+ streams within the first six weeks. XV piqued the interest of Sennheiser, which then lead to a live performance on their Instagram, and a feature on their website. Having performed for Sofar Sounds from London to Brighton, with a Youth Music award nomination in October, and a main stage BBC Introducing show booked for Readipop 2021, Deva St. John is one of the country’s surest rising stars, and she won’t slow down for a minute. ABOUT THE SONG Deva St John grew up as a working actor. As much as she loved it (and still does) she felt like she couldn’t really explore who she was or who she could become. Unwavering commitment, regardless of how damaging it might be, seemed like the only key to success. Hence the name of the track. When Deva finally got the courage to also pursue music, it felt like a very reckless choice. She then committed way less energy to acting and was getting a lot of angst out in the songwriting. Deva was worried it would affect her employability. 'Reckless' is about throwing caution to the wind, ironically, for the sake of self-preservation. All music is written, performed, recorded and produced by Andy Davidson as well as all artwork, website and merchandise design. “I have always wanted to write and produce my own album but always had an excuse not to. Enough of that, I’m doing it. I don’t know how far this will go, but for my own self satisfaction, its something I have to do.” “Music has been my life since I can remember. I currently sing in a cover band called Last Anthem, teach in some schools and do bits of graphic design. These are all jobs I love but I will never get away from my passion of writing songs and creating something from nothing. Enough time has passed by not doing it, it’s time to change.” Why the name? Feed Your Wolves? “I decided I didn’t want to release these records under my own name and eventually decided on ‘Feed Your Wolves’ because of a quote I had read. It goes like this…” There are two wolves always fighting inside me. One is filled with anger, hate, jealousy, shame and lies. The other wolf is filled with love, joy, truth and peace. Artist - Follow Me Dark Song - Stars Collide December 9, 2020 - Alt Rock/Metal band Follow Me Dark ends 2020 on a high note with the release of their self-titled odyssey “Follow Me Dark”. Slated to go LIVE on the winter solstice, the 12/21 release is an impeccable testament to their dedication and perseverance. COVID truly changed everything for musicians, putting them in an introspective position to create art during a time when nobody is playing shows. In light of this, Follow Me Dark chose to focus on finishing their album right in time for the changing of seasons. In the spirit of challenging comfort zones, their full length album is meant to welcome people into listening to something outside of their realm of comfort. Instrumentally, the band taps into multiple genres in an attempt to convey a mood through music to reflect the dimensions that are inside of all of us. Their intricate textural interludes and melodic choruses captivate fans of alt rock, metal, psychedelic rock, indie rock and even rock opera. The modern psychedelic grooves and metal attacks tap into fans of Muse, Alice in Chains and Deftones. Follow Me Dark’s emotional new album isn’t afraid to confront human nature in a very raw and transparent way. Consisting of Stephen Kozak (vocals/guitar), Sean Batinic (guitar), Elliot Grove (bass) and Jim Boots (drums), the band reveals a chemistry between bandmates that assists in amplifying their message in a relatable yet ‘larger than life’ way. Hailing from Grass Valley, CA, the band has successfully introduced their grassroots following to a progressive approach to songwriting. And in “Follow Me Dark”, the band embraces very organic musical peaks and valleys, offering a refreshing complexity to the alt rock/metal genre. “Too much music nowadays is predictable, it’s unexciting. It’s not surprising. That’s something we pride ourselves in; we try to make music that pushes you into “I didn’t see this coming. I’m off my rocker. I can’t categorize this” says vocalist/guitarist Stephen Kozak. Full length albums are often hard to come by in our singles-laden world. But “Follow Me Dark” has a unique way of provoking you to commit to listening from beginning to end. The “Follow Me Dark” project embraces the darker parts in all of us that we aren’t always consciously aware of. With the release of their self-titled project, they hope to create an outlet for people who might be confronting some of the same feelings that they do; those feelings of dread, confusion, chaos and anger. In the words of drummer Jim Boots, “There’s a dark, shadowy feeling to the music that’s kind of what the world is going through right now.” And after such a turbulent year, it’s important not to ignore those feelings but to welcome them knowing that many are experiencing the exact same thing. While the light and positive emotions bring us together, so do the dark ones. Our imperfections make us relatable to one another and after a culmination of two years of intense creativity, Follow Me Dark hopes to provide their fans with cathartic & spiritual experience to wrap up a year that is sure to go down in history books. Featuring Gudg (vocals), Fran Feely (Bass), Leon Jones (Guitar) and Stuart Gray (keys). The band have all known each other socially for years. Gudg and Fran had some songs and they asked Leon if he fancied adding some guitar and soon after Stuart jumped on board and The Gabriels were born. ‘Loose Canyon’ was recorded in 2020 to the obvious background of Covid. Gudg explains “The song is about escapism, this year more than any we’ve all probably felt the need to escape. As a band we love the 1960s Laurel canyon Scene and would have loved to be have been part of it. It was a time where it felt like anything could happen both socially and musically and as a band it’s a big influence on us”. All band members have a musical history before The Gabriels. Gudg previously sang with Pallenberg, Fran previously played with Elefant Records act The Silver Factory, Leon in Blow Up Records band Alfa 9, and Stuart in Fence Collective band Viva Stereo and Drone/Psych Band Children of Leir. Taking in influences such as The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, C86, The Stone Roses and Teenage Fanclub as well as sharing a love for the 1960s Culture and soundtracks. The band are currently recording their debut album and looking for options for release for the future. Live gigs are also planned. We'd really appreciate any mention/review/interview -its tough for a new unsigned band trying tog et any exposure at the moment without live gigs! We have released three singles to-date and our first EP 'Sailing Upon the Times' drops everywhere January 8, 2021. Primary songwriters Trevor Meyer and Thomas Heun played in competing bands in high school. After college, they combined their talents and began writing together. Joined by bassist, Marc Barone and drummer, Jon Schlote; The Jobs musical space is primarily occupied in alternative rock with tinges of surf, punk, and emo. Melodies are deliberate and songs are rooted in pop sensibility often masked underneath the gaze of guitar fuzz. Influences have greatly expanded over the years drawing from travel, world topography, landscapes, the sea, storytelling, loss and isolation, recuperation, and perseverance through physical and mental challenges. Packaging in tonal influence that is governed by a love for British rock, vintage rock and emo, The Jobs maintain their process-driven approach focused on flow rather than force. As the band’s musical cadence matures, the commitment to integral songwriting and love for innovation balance the challenges of sailing upon the ever changing 2020 musical landscape and beyond. Band - Form Rank Song - Retribution Hailing from the once-fertile punk landscape of the San Fernando Valley, FORM RANK's brand of American Oi! and early '80s hardcore pays homage to its roots with freight-train guitar riffs, plodding drums and anthemic melodies that will have you shouting along by the second chorus. Orange G Song - Look Both Ways "Look Both Ways" which was just released on 11/20. The song is about how we often assume the worst from our fellow humans and I wrote it to remind myself and others to challenge those perspectives and see things from a more positive outlook. The sound of this track is a departure from my usual minimalist indie folk style (I am also including a link to my most recent Spotify release "The Dustbin" which is more minimal). I used a whole band on "Look Both Ways", including my favorite instrument, the harmonica, which takes a lead role. Both "Look both ways" and "The Dustbin" were world-premiered on the New Music Saturday podcast. Here are some quotes from the hosts Dr. Bones and Mike1inFive: "Man this is so cool! A #worldexclusive and what a tune that is!!! This has a dark and mysterious vibe going on locked in that raw rootsy sound Orange G does so well. I love the chorus - it really comes alive in the final one with that lead part. Wow!" (about "Look Both Ways") "How good is this!! A folky-bluesy banjo tune about persistence. Love the lyrics, I think the vocal is perfectly pitched - almost moves into a kinda pop-punk twang - and the whole track comes together brilliantly. Simplicity is beauty - right here this is proven." (about "The Dustbin") Just a little bit about me: I am a one-person DIY musician in Pittsburgh, PA. My day job is in the sciences, and much of my music is influenced by my experiences in that hypercompetitive arena. I have intensified my songwriting and recording efforts in the pandemic, which has been hugely rewarding and self-medicating. I am greatly influenced by the indie folk/americana acts like Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes, Wilco and Jake Bellows to name a few. My tracks most often have a self-reflective nature and I play all the instruments. During the pandemic, I have been playing every week at the Hambone's Virtual Open Mic, which includes musicians and an audience from all over the world RED Shakes Believe It Red Shakes is the project of Sam Da Silva, inspired by lots of artists and genres Red Shakes makes music reminiscent of 60’s guitar pop groups and indie bands of the 2000’s, all the way from and to and . Early 2020 saw red Shakes release his first 2 singles, both of which were well received, garnering support from Amazing Radio, RGM magazine and more. Marz Fay Sunsets And Beaches Marz Fay is an authentic musician and artist hailing from South London, she is a self-taught pianist, guitarist and lyricist. She uses organic methods to weave together ethereal, melodic sounds with lyrics rooted in poetry. So far, she has released three tracks via Sound Cloud and is releasing her debut single coming out on all platforms in November 2020. Truly DIY, she records tracks in her home make-shift studio. The result is a genuine, honest artistic project from a young woman speaking truth on love, sexuality and politics. She is known for “captivating” the audience with her performances at events such as “Tracks On Tap” and “Luna Legacy” . Her forthcoming EP “INK” showcases her dreamy- lofi sound and her creative direction. Her craft doesn’t end there, she is also a DIY videographer, creating stimulating videos using her iPhone to fit alongside her sound. In addition to this her outgoing personality can be seen through her presenting a Culture show at The Beat 103.6 FM. She is a motivated, multi talented young person that is due to rock the music scene in the coming years. MC16 Song - Anti On the back of their recent live appearance at the UK’s first ever punk drive-in gig, punk rockers MC16 release a new song and video; ‘Anti’. The song has once again been recorded in Worcestershire and produced by Dave Draper (The Wildhearts/ The Professionals) and is the follow-up to their last single ‘Brave New Word’ which was given a video exclusive by Vive Le Rock magazine. “Anti’ got its world exclusive as part of the virtual Rebellion Festival and is now being released digitally, backed by a video made by filmmaker Will Hutchinson. Says front man, Carson “Anti is about the evolution or de-evolution of protest. When you look back at the Poll Tax riots for example, we took the fight to the places of power but if you look at protest now it can just be an excuse for someone to loot an electrical shop and bag themselves a new TV or do a post on social media using an angry emoji and hoping people like their post rather than do something about the issue” “Has anger become a fashion? Issues remain the same but protest moves onto the next thing and never seems to look back until it comes round again. Some protesters just want their badge and t-shirt, wear it for a bit and then look for something new to wear. A protest is not a sponsored charity walk or nice day out in London, it’s a tiny tiny piece of a bigger and longer campaign” The track is available on all digital streaming services and via the band’s Bandcamp MC16band.bandcamp.com Semitonal Doors SEMITONAL makes bass-driven, hypnotic, instrumental music with attitude. The DOORS EP is a Dystopian Industrial/Drum'n'Bass collaboration with fellow London act OTHER, and has been receiving regular online radio airplay on indie and electro stations in the UK, Europe and, strangely, Montreal. More stations are coming on board, and reviews have started to appear. Their long-awaited debut album 'No Sound Ever Dies' recently entered the official Irish album charts while also hitting the No.1 spot in the indie charts, making it a staggering fourth No 1 since their comeback. ‘No Sound Ever Dies’ while achieving chart success at home, has been very well received internationally with tracks from the album gaining radio airplay in a massive 33 countries spanning the globe. Rarely (if ever) has a band’s debut album taken as long to reach its fans as No Sound Ever Dies by Emperor of Ice Cream; but perhaps theirs' is no ordinary story. The album’s title alludes to the feeling within the band when a 2020 newspaper article in the Irish Examiner elicited an emotional response from followers and ensured Cork’s FIFA Records thought it prudent to get the band members sitting around a virtual table. Now based in Cork, Waterford, New York and Amsterdam, respectively Eddie Butt, John ‘Haggis’ Hegarty, Graham Finn and Colum Young, resolved to both delve into early releases from Emperor of Ice Cream and return to studio to put the finishing touches on a album that was shelved 25 years ago, when they prematurely parted company with their label, Sony Records. They discovered a treasure trove of recordings and unfinished ideas that still sounded remarkably fresh despite the passing of time and began the process of completing a project that they had left Cork for London to work on during a heady period in the mid-nineties. Fledgling riotous performances and early demos had piqued the interest of several record labels, but Sony pipped them all to the post with a promising development deal, and the lure of London captured the imagination of the four young Cork musicians. It resulted in three extremely well-received EPs (Overflow, William and Know Me) and recordings began with 'Fast' Eddie Clarke of legends Motörhead, who has contributed work on three of the new album’s tracks. No Sound Ever Dies kicks off as it means to go on with the title track from the William EP, and what follows is a musical petri-dish of shoegaze sounds, with touches of psychedelia and classic indie rock. Singles ‘Lambent Eyes’ and ‘Everyone Looks So Fine’ (which both enjoyed Number One positions in digital charts) are two gems on a rollercoaster Side A, while ‘High Rise Low Rise’ slows the pace down a little with its chilled Disintegration-like resonations. ‘Again and Again’ picks the pace up once more before the epic closer ‘Grow As You Are’ brings things to a crashing and fitting finale. Twenty-five years in the making, the appropriately-titled No Sound Ever Dies is testament to that very notion, and a poignant end to this chapter for a band who may have once burned out, but once again are shining brightly!! ON NEXT WEEK’S SHOW - ??? Here's what we played:
BAND: The Superlatives TRACK: What Will You Do With Me Rock band for Leeds Twitter - @TheSuperlatives The Superlatives are a three piece indie rock band from Leeds. Hard hitting catchy riffs with a driving bass sound. Charlie Noble - lead guitar and vocals Tom Gausden - bass guitar Jamie Godley - drums and backing vocals The Superlatives wear their influences on their sleeves with music comparative to the progeny of Britpop, 70’s British Punk, indie and alternative. Described by the Sheffield Scenester as ‘Looking like three blokes going down the pub, their casual demeanour gave little hint of the underlying talent they were ready to unleash upon the Harley [venue in Sheffield]. Power chord combinations tore out of the amps and across the room with riff after riff belting, the drums pounding with foot-stomping ferocity and the vocals not drawing attention, but grabbing you by the throat and demanding it.’ We’re a band from Wetherby, formed a long time ago, with four members. As we’ve improved and formed our sound, we’ve also whittled down the members to just three of us. With the typical three piece set up, we’ve played gigs all over Leeds and Sheffield, as well as playing in Germany, the Netherlands and London. These most recent demos were recorded at Cottage Road Studios in Headingly, the same place where the Crookes recorded their album, and Leeds bands such as Pulled Apart by Horses and the Pigeon Detectives have also recorded BAND: Coral Snake SONG: Pierce The Heart CONTACT: North East hard rock band Coral Snake have released their debut single ‘Pierce The Heart’ on 09th October 2020. An adrenaline fuelled statement of who they are, ‘Pierce The Heart’ is just the start of what’s to come from the 4-piece powerhouse. Borne from heartbreak and betrayal, ‘Pierce the Heart’ is triumphant in its emotional soundscape; with impressively impassioned vocals and thrilling instrumentation, the song is not only a visceral representation of real life but a statement of who Coral Snake are and the hard rock vigor with which they play. The single was recorded, mixed and mastered by Samuel Turbitt of Ritual Studios in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Known for his ability to capture monstrous drum tones, exhilarating guitars and flawless vocals, “Pierce The Heart’ delivers on all counts. Formed in late 2019 from the remains of Chris (Guitar), Joe (Drums) and Matt’s (Bass) former band, they drafted in Jamie (Vocals & Guitar), who had blown them away when they shared the stage with him several times at gigs earlier in their careers. The band is true to its old school rock n’ roll roots with a modern flavour, a band with the bluesy gusto of Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith, in a loud hard rock package akin to Alter Bridge and Nickelback. BAND: GINNEL TRACK: Blueprint GINNEL are a new and exciting garage punk/psych outfit from the very heart of the northwest. Treading in the footsteps of long forgotten ghosts and taking compress readings along the way from the likes of: ‘STACK WADDY, THE MODERN LOVERS, BLUE ORCHIDS and THE SWELL MAPS’, GINNEL are bringing old sounds to new ears. After playing support slots with the likes of THE LOVELY EGGS, DEJA VEGA and THE MEMBRANES, the band set up camp in 6dB studios Salford Manchester with producer Simon 'Ding' Archer (THE FALL, PJ HARVEY and THE PIXIES) to capture the bands live energy and true sound. After making their debut in 2016, the Warrington quintet’s noise laden psych sound has piqued people’s interest across the world. Their last release ‘Northern Fire’ came out in 2019, and after a year of experimenting on new material and navigating lockdown difficulties, Holy Drone are back with their new single ‘Fibres’. Taking inspiration from the likes of Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine, the song came together very quickly for the band, written during a period in lockdown when the sun was shining and the band started to gain a shred of optimism about the weird situation we all found ourselves in. Opened by Emma Taylor’s signature glistening breathy vocals, ‘Fibres’ is punctuated by a soaring guitar riff, pairing together to create a blissful, transcendent listen. ‘Fibres’ follows other previous releases ‘Sleeping Silver’, ‘Radio Song’ and ‘Washed Out’, and two EPs - ‘Danxia’ (2016) and 2017’s follow up ‘Learn To Swim’, which all captured the attention of the likes of BBC Introducing, The Unsigned Guide and Amazing Radio. The band have recently supported Witch Fever and Max Bloom (Yuck), and also played at Stay Fresh Fest. Take a look at what people have had to say about Holy Drone so far: “Peeking out from underneath the layers of delicious fuzz, you’ll hear the hypnotic, soaring vocals leading ‘Washed Out’ to its sublime crescendo like a siren luring ships onto the rocks.” - The Unsigned Guide “Celestial waves of dazzling shoegaze shower upon our welcoming ears while Bate-Nilsson’s dreamy vocals swirl high above the fuzzed-out storm. For under three minutes, we are overwhelmed by a song that is simply shoegaze brilliance.” - Therevue.ca “Their hypnotic brand of alt-rock, takes cues from the fuzzed out guitar interplay of Deerhunter fused with something heavy, leaving their own original sound. Opening for a masterful act from across the channel, the female-fronted five-piece presented themselves as a complete force-to-be-reckoned-with that have plenty of steam in them to go all the way with their project.” - MCR Live Find Holy Drone on the following platforms: “holydroneuk” Spotify Soundcloud Bandcamp YouTube BAND Pocket Lint SONG Daydreams of Aidi CONTACT Pocket Lint is the solo project of former Remodel guitarist, Mark Heffernan. The name Pocket Lint refers to the leftover ideas that formed the tracks on E.P. One, but the focus has quickly moved towards new material. A feature of Pocket Lint recordings is a love of ‘Aural Bonbons’: sounds found or created and incorporated into songs. These might be the sound of bells, traffic, or a cocktail being shaken. The project explores different styles and is not confined by particular musical boxes. Whilst maintaining a sense of the romantic, the lyrical content avoids the cliched tropes of love songs and those of classic rock hedonism preferring to look for less trodden paths. Recorded during the first lockdown of 2020 and set to be released on Bandcamp, E.P. Two features two songs with a political focus. It seems impossible to avoid at present. ‘Back to Basics’, the first track, takes its title from John Major’s 1990s speech, which sought a return to ‘family values’. The song rails against attitudes to immigration. The second political song, ‘International Conspiracy’, is an argument with Hitler. ‘Daydreams of Aidi’ is the distillation of a novel by Enrico Brizzi while ‘The Soul Banker’ introduces a Halloween character who buys souls. The final song, ‘Four Paths’, is an instrumental. BAND Temporary Long Term Positions SONG FORCE CONTACT We're Temporary Longterm Positions an indie alt-rock band from North Wales. We started making music in North Wales in late 90s / early 2000s. As a duo (longtime friends with a passion for music) we shared a love of the mid to late 60s psychedelic/garage bands such as The Doors, Love and 13th Floor Elevators. Despite growing up in the 80s and 90s we tried to capture the spirit and creative freedom those bands had throughout our music, but also tried hard not to mimic ideas and to remain original. We both play guitars primarily but do also play bass, keys, percussion etc. Due to curcumstance at the moment it's just me writing and recording but after Covid (hopefully) I will be looking for a drummer and bass player plus the other half of the duo to take these songs out to the world. 'Force' is just me playing everything, we have not released music as a duo yet but have many recordings/ ideas. This is the start. 'Force' is a track from one of our upcoming albums 'Remote Viewing' which releases 01/12/2020 on Spotify and other major streaming platforms. We currently have an EP and two albums released already with another album releasing 27th of this month before 'Remote Viewing' comes out (I have been working very hard on writing/recording and getting music out there this year). Twitter: @TempLongTermPos Band: Shader SONG: Don’t You Forget About Me CONTACT Stoke, Leek, Sandbach and Sale’s finest new Rock n Roll outfit SHADER release their isolation cover of the Simple Minds US number 1 hit ‘Don't You (Forget About Me)’ on Friday 27th November, to support The Music Venue Trust and the #WeMakeEvents campaigns The aim is to raise awareness of the campaigns and encourage donations; plus all proceeds from the release will be donated to the campaigns Frontman Stu Whiston: “After recording ‘Don't You’ in isolation during the 1st COVID lockdown, we posted it as an isolation cover on our social media and got a great response. The author Brett Easton Ellis picked up on it and gave us a ReTweet. Though both the band and the label aren’t keen on releasing cover versions as such, 42’s Records suggested that, as a band that depends on grassroots music venues and events crew, the title would fit perfectly as a digital single to support and raise awareness of the #WeMakeEvents and #SaveOurVenues campaigns. Music venues have been closed for 9 months; many have had no financial support. There’s an army of highly skilled crew; roadies, sound and light technicians, bar staff etc who have had no work and no real support for that period. Anyone into music, bands and gigs should know this is critical and we can’t afford to lose these venues, which provide a starting point for new bands, or the skilled professionals that make gigs happen. We spoke to people at the #WeMake Events and The Music Venue Trust and they were delighted to have us supporting them Details from our 4th show are below:
BAND: BathTub SONG: Introduction CONTACT We are a new-rock duet from Stoke-on-Trent, England, comprised of Olly and Brandon, both aged 20. We've been making waves all across the UK in the last 12 months since the release of our album 'GET DUCKED' which released on 1st September 2019, amassing over 100K streams across all platforms! After a rather large hiatus, and a change in format and direction, we are now releasing our first new music in over 14 months on November 29th. BAND: Without Andrew TRACK: Don’t Turn Away CONTACT: Without Andrew are: Sam Robertson Danneh Gleave Monique Tallow Mat Buckley Without Andrew are a four piece punk rock band from Manchester, blending together the sounds of older punk rock with the more modern day pop punk of Green Day and Blink 182, as well as the vocal stylings of The Used, Creeper and Secondhand Serenade. Their new single ‘Don’t Turn Away’ is released on Monday 26th October. The song was born from songwriter Mat messing around with an acoustic guitar, singing the first line of the song and knowing there was something to build on. The song became a love story about the challenges between connecting and co-existing in a world so vast. Mat says of the single: “‘Don't Turn Away’ is a massive step forward in both our writing and performance ability, showing that we are able to write songs with impressive, difficult vocal melodies and interesting guitar parts that show off the ability of the band. I believe this is our best song to date." BAND: The Institutes SONG: All That You’ll Ever Know CONTACT: Coventry’s finest anthemic rock n roll combo THE INSTITUTES release their soaring new single ALL THAT YOU’LL EVER KNOW on Friday 13th November. Vocalist Reid Zappa Currie: “It’s the sound of 4 lads in a freezing cold garage in Coventry, feeling like we’re looking through a keyhole at a better life, and dreaming, with knife edge hopes of escaping, to get a taste of ‘living in paradise’ ”. This is the INSTITUTES first single for 42's Records. BAND Bedfires SONG Hand And Compass CONTACT - My name is Jesse and I play in a band called “BEDFIRES”. BAND Skylights SONG Darkness Falls CONTACT York based anthemic rock n rollers SKYLIGHTS release their EPIC 2nd physical single DARKNESS FALLS on Friday 23rd October This cinematic track, was produced during lockdown, vocal- ist and lyricist Rob Scarisbrick: ‘I think the song captures the fear and emotion felt by many around the lockdown. It brought the best and worst out in people. Their debut physical single “ENEMIES” hit number 2 in the UK Physical Singles Chart in June, held back from the top spot only by Fontaines DC. In 2021 Skylights will embark on a tour (some dates already sold out) which will see them play Leeds Uni, Aberdeen, Glasgow, London and Dublin, as well as Live At Leeds, Hit the North, Sound City and Bingley Weekender. Infusing Britpop and post punk influences, Skylights have fast built a reputation as a ‘band of the people’ through live shows, an appearance on SOCCER AM (click to view) and relentless interaction with a growing hungry, loyal and passionate fanbase , which includes a surprisingly eclectic array of sports & media celebs including the BBC’s Mike Bushell, Josh Warrington, Guy Mowbray, Gaetano Berardi and Westlife’s Nicky Byrne to name but a few. BAND PreHistoric Animals SONG Floodgate CONTACT For Fans of Muse, Tool, A Perfect Circle ”What happens when you love classic progressive rock, alternative rock and brilliant pop music? You make it very hard for yourself..... but despite that, PreHistoric Animals have gained huge success in all these areas. When they released their second album, The Magical Mystery Machine (chapter 1), they were praised by both the audience and the reviewers. Samuel Granath and Stefan Altzar created the first album - Consider it a work of art in 2018 and when it was time for touring Noah Magnusson and Daniel Magdic (Ex. Pain of salvation) joined the band. The first Magical Mystery Machine tracks were written in 2019 and the album was released on September 30th 2020.” BAND - Counting The Killers SONG: Counting The Killers UK band COUNTING THE KILLERS release their third single from the e.p HIDDEN IN THE OPEN. With 6 tracks being released on a monthly basis, this track titled HEAD ABOVE WATER deals with depression and is a departure from the bands usual heavy vibes such as WINTER (August release) and CTK (September release) Downloads from the bands website are being donated to two mental health charities and HEAD ABOVE WATER merchandise from the bands shop are going too. BAND Emperor of Ice Cream SONG Everyone Looks So Fine CONTACT Rarely (if ever) has a band’s debut album taken as long to reach its fans as No Sound Ever Dies by Emperor of Icecream; but perhaps theirs is no ordinary story. The album’s title alludes to the feeling within the band when a 2020 newspaper article elicited an emotional response from followers and ensured Cork’s FIFA Records thought it prudent to get the band members sitting around a virtual table. Now based in Cork, Waterford, New York and Amsterdam, respectively Eddie Butt, John ‘Haggis’ Hegarty, Graham Finn and Colum Young, resolved to both delve into early releases from Emperor of Icecream and return to studio to put the finishing touches on a album that was shelved 25 years ago, when they prematurely parted company with their label, Sony Records. The two singles ‘Lambent Eyes’ and ‘Everyone Looks So Fine’ (which both enjoyed Number One positions in digital charts) are two gems on a rollercoaster Side A, while ‘High Rise Low Rise’ slows the pace down a little with its chilled Disintegration-like resonations. ‘Again and Again’ picks the pace up once more before the epic closer ‘Grow As You Are’ brings things to a crashing and fitting finale. Twenty five years in the making, the appropriately-titled No Sound Ever Dies is testament to that very notion, and a poignant end to this chapter for a band who may have once burned out, but didn’t fade away. Band: FAZE SONG: Carried Away CONTACT We are FAZE, a 5-piece neo-funk fusion band from London. Inspired by funk, feel-good and alternative artists like Parliament, Thundercat and Hiatus Kaiyote we write wacky, original tunes and are just about to release our debut single ‘Carried Away’ on November 12th. Our track has been described by music blog editors as ‘Vintage funk’ and ‘Avant-garde’ As a new young band kickstarting our career your support would be crucial in pushing out our music to new ears and helping us build a fanbase!
